What would it take to be a genius? As I search the internet about the famous genius it results only two people, Leonardo da Vinci and Michel Angelo.
I read an article entitled "Is Leonardo da Vinci a great artist or a great scientist?" by Jonathan Jones of theguardian.com. This article is about the division of Leonardo da Vinci as a scientist and as an artist. The Royal Collection says Da Vinci was a scientist while the National Gallery gang says he was an artist. So who's right? It says that Leonardo was a scientist and an artist at the same time and in a way totally an imaginable today. It also says that the scientific thinking of Leonardo was inherited by the from ancient Greece. His thinking was a curious mixture of existence of atom by Democritus and the superstitious thinking that pervades the Hippocratic Writings. "For me, Leonardo's anatomical drawings are both icons of science, and wonders of art." , said the author.
Based on my opinion, we don't need to argue with that perception. Leonardo Da Vinci was both a great artist and scientist. I like the way he think, particularly with the things that he inherited by Democritus.
I read an article entitled"Outsider Geniuses: Michelangelo and Leonardo" by Staton Peele of phycologytoday.com. This article is about Leonardo Da Vinci and Michel Angelo. According to the article they disliked each other. It says that Leonardo had a formal education which causes Michel Angelo insecurity and envy.It also says that Michel Angelo was considered the divine man, while Leonardo was considered as The Renaissance Man . The article also included the thing they have in common. First is they both have a natural talent, they were both deprived of their mothers at an early age. They both have the early opportunities to develop and perfect their skills. Also they're both outsiders. The author says "A strong sense of themself, an impenetrable ego, a feeling of their own specialness, and practice at ignoring doubt and scorn."
In my opinion both of them had given a big contribution in Renaissance era that we may use in our generation. They both have same skills and talent that they may contribute in the society.
