As I search the internet, it says that Leonardo Da Vinci was the father of science. I wondered why, so I decided to read some of articles about him that focuses about science and how he study different things that is impossible in his time.
I read an article entitled "The Original Renaissance Man" by Liane Beam of faze.ca. This article tells about Da Vinci's life as an artist, scientist and inventor, but lets focus about Da Vinci as a scientist. It says that his idea is so broad that he can't even finish things that he started. He put his experiments and idea in his illustrated notebooks, but he never published his ideas. He come up with an idea by observing the nature, and ask himself about what he saw. Leonardo also did a creepy investigations, like for example he gathered the dead bodies of the criminals and us it to examine human body. "During the later years of his life, Leonardo was more fascinated by science than he was by art." The author said.
For me, Leonardo was one the best scientist in history. He think of something that no one can imagine in his time. In my opinion, he should have published his works immediately so he could have inspire more people than making his ideas private.
I also read an article entitled "Leonardo da Vinci's earth-shattering insights about geology" by Jonathan Jones of theguardian.com. This article tells about Leonardo Da Vinci as geologist. Its says that the shells and fish bones he gathered in mountain top must be the remains of animals that swam in these places when they were covered with sea. Leonardo also stated that the most powerful natural force is the movement of water in rivers. It also says that he did not think these things in abstract, but he did real research. There was also a story that Leonardo went in the mountain and reached the top then he wrote in his note about his exploration in that mountain where he found fossil bones. The author said "But creationists who still try to argue against the evidence of the rocks should know that it was not Darwin who struck the first blow against biblical views of nature. It was Leonardo da Vinci"
In my opinion, Leonardo Da Vinci did a great research. He was able to identify the natural environment around him and think of an idea spontaneously.
